Is teeth grinding a side effect of adderall?

I am prescribed Adderall for ADD. I just started taking it like a week ago or so. I notice that my teeth start grinding and they are kinda sore from grinding right now. They are grinding unintentionally. I just think I am going to stop taking this because I am already bipolar and this slipped me into a bad mania the other day. But I was wondering if this happens to others that take Adderall? I can%26#039;t sleep at all and I am not eating. This is b.s.

Is teeth grinding a side effect of adderall?
Yes..grinding, not sleeping, poor appetite are all side effects of Adderal. I assume the same doctor you see for bipolar gave you the Adderal for ADD, if not make sure they communicate. Tell your doctor about what is happening for sure.
Reply:wow i thought i was screwed up
Reply:Yes, I used to take that stuff to study n I had to buy two packs of Bubbalicious just to last through the night.
Reply:I stopped taking Adderall for the same reasons you mentioned. I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder and I will swing into manic states until the medicine is gone, then I am sick and hopelessly depressed. I don%26#039;t eat, or sleep while I take it. I get headaches and am anxious and easily irritated. The last straw for me was that I started hearing voices. I will never take Adderall again. I don%26#039;t think anyone should.
Reply:not usually but teeth grinding is also connect to liver problems.weird i know.but true.
Reply:%26quot;The majority of side effects during the trial were mild or moderate and consistent with known side effects of stimulant medications. The most common side effects reported by patients taking ADDERALL XR during the trial included decreased appetite, weight loss, dry mouth, insomnia and bruxism (teeth grinding). The most common side effects reported by patients taking placebo during the trial included decreased weight and headache.%26quot;
Reply:Yes, that is a side effect, but i believe that it usually happens when you take too much. That%26#039;s kind of what it sounds like with the not eating/not sleeping. You may want to speak with the doctor who prescibed it to you about either lowering the dose or exploring other options.

Good luck.
Reply:Yes, from the Adderall and all the coke. Bad acid can do it too.
Reply:It would be a good idea to see your doctor. Sometimes the doc%26#039;s have to %26quot;juggle%26quot; meds, which means adjust the dosage or change to another med. Your system may need to adjust to the med but then again your doctor will know. Get a mouth-guard, they are at pharmacies or even a sporting good store. They can be adjusted to fit your mouth by dropping in warm water. The box will explain. You could wear this at night to help.

Best of luck.
Reply:YES! this is indeed a side effect! I think your dose is too high! Call your doctor. It is creating the mania you speak of. It will cause delirium and psychotic behavior too.
Reply:Grinding your teeth is a form of being nervous and is also a disorder, you need to do some research on drug given by a doctor versus natural medicines.
Reply:Seeing as Adderall is a speedy drug, I%26#039;d say that teeth grinding could very well be a side effect.
