Bad teeth grinding?

any good ways to stop teeth-grinding, other than using a mouthguard? i have a mouthguard but it%26#039;s annoying having to wear it every night. i wish there were some way to get to the root of the problem so that the grinding would stop instead of just treating the symptoms.

Bad teeth grinding?
If you ever do get to the root of the problem let us all know as it has perplexed many for a long time. Most theories state stress but that is just a theory. Some have thought sub clinical food poisoning such as salmonella but that is still unproven. In the meantime the treatment of choice is mouth guards. The most comfortable and tolerable seem to be the NTI-tss. They are very small and still allow a person to create a good lip seal during sleep. You might try asking your Dentist about it. Good Luck.

Reply:Exercise to relieve tension, which is the culprit of tooth-grinding.
Reply:cant wait to see the answers...i have the same problem but i haven%26#039;t tried the mouthguard.
Reply:It is truly psychological, you apparently are going through a lot of stress right now, start an excercise routine, eat healthy, and get right with God.

Reply:i have the same problem and i can sumtimes hurt a bit too. but i usually do somethin to get my mind of it.
Reply:I have the same problem and my dentist told me about some jaw relaxing excersises. Tension is the main cause of grinding teeth...also, chewing gum for an hour or two before bed helps me.
